Kamaldeen magic earns Atalanta gritty point at Juventus
Unbeaten Serie A Run Stretches to Five after Turin Draw
At the Allianz Stadium in Turin, the match against Juventus ended 1-1 in a well-fought game by the Nerazzurri, who took the lead thanks to a brilliant play by Kamaldeen. This marks Atalanta’s fifth consecutive unbeaten result in the league, bringing their tally in the Serie A standings to 9 points.
After an early scare from the hosts as Kalulu smacked the post in the 2nd minute and Koopmeiners had his attempt denied by Carnesecchi in the 4th, Atalanta responded on 6 minutes with Krstović, whose shot sailed over the bar. Then on 9 minutes Ahanor picked up possession near the final third and played a swift one-two with Krstović before seeing his effort deflected out for a corner by Bremer. In the 17th minute, Carnesecchi stretched out to tip Adzic's shot at the bottom corner past the post, then in the 19th minute, Thuram's effort grazed the right post after picking up a deflection from Atalanta's defence. At the 28th minute, Djimsiti headed from a corner cross, but the ball sailed over the bar, with Adzic following suit two minutes later by firing wide. The second half opened with the Nerazzurri immediately threatening in the 51st minute: Pašalić played a brilliant through ball to Krstović, who broke free, but the striker's left-footed finish went wide. In the 62nd minute, Pašalić also had a go with a glancing header that forced Di Gregorio to tip it over for a corner. Then on 64 minutes De Ketelaere picked out Bellanova with a weighted cross, oly for the wingback to be denied the goal by a clucth clearence from Cambiaso. Juventus leveled the score in the 78th with a point-blank touch from Cabal. Right after, Atalanta got down to 10 men after de Roon picked up a second booking.
