Jurić's press conference ahead of Atalanta v Lecce
The Nerazzurri coach previews our second home match of the season
Ivan Jurić has spoken to the press ahead of Atalanta's second home game of the 2025/26 Serie A Enilive season, against Lecce on Sunday 14 September, with kick-off at 15:00 CEST at the Bergamo stadium: “I’m expecting a tough, demanding game. The first two matchdays have already shown some closely fought battles. We’ve been working on several aspects, and we know we need to improve in every aspect — we are really eager to win. In the first two games, we didn’t make the most of the chances we created. I expect Lecce to be aggressive and to play attacking football rather than a defensive game here in Bergamo.”
The Nerazzurri coach then explained why Lookman won’t be part of the squad for the Lecce game: "Lookman is a top player, and I have a great relationship with him. However, at the moment, a few fundamental qualities are missing: the right attitude, humility, passion for the shirt, and a sense of responsibility. I shouldn’t have to beg anyone to play – we are Atalanta, and we represent a city and a community. It’s not up to me to plead for him; it’s up to him to prove himself."
