Italy's National side back in Bergamo

Azzurri to face Estonia on September 5 at the Gewiss Stadium

Five years on, the Italian National team will make its return to Bergamo. On September 5, Luciano Spalletti's Azzurri will face Estonia in a European Qualifying fixture for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as the Gewiss Stadium plays host to a 20:45 CEST kick-off.

Honoured and profoundly privileged, Atalanta BC express their highest gratification in welcoming Italy's National team once again.

The latest encounter took place on October 13, 2020, when the Azzurri faced the Netherlands in a Nations League fixture. On a previous occasion, Bergamo had the honour of hosting Italy back on November 15 2006 for a friendly match against Turkey. The first time the national team graced the Bergamo stadium dates back to January 24 1987, when Italy, led by Azeglio Vicini, imposed themselves 5-0 over Malta in a European qualifier.
