FIFA World Cup 2026: Isak Hien and Odilon Kossounou in action
Marten de Roon was an unused substitute
The FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage continues at a relentless pace and will run through June 27 before the tournament moves into the knockout rounds, culminating in the final on July 19.
Three national teams featuring Atalanta players were in action on Saturday, June 20. In an all-Atalanta clash, Marten de Roon’s Netherlands faced Isak Hien’s Sweden. While De Roon remained an unused substitute, Hien played the full 90 minutes, as the Dutch cruised to a 5-1 victory.
Odilon Kossounou was also on the pitch from start to finish for Ivory Coast, but the Elephants were undone by a late German comeback. Germany struck the winner in stoppage time to seal a 2-1 victory.
