Despite their best efforts, especially considering the team being one man-down for almost two thirds of the game, Atalanta U23s eventually had to bow down to Feralpisalò as the hosts imposed themselves 3-1 at the Lino Turina stadium.
Match Report
The hosts almost broke the deadlock on 6 minutes, when Pilati's header from a corner-kick situation forced Bertini to perform a great goalkeeping display. Atalanta U23s retaliated in the 11th through Manzoni who, upon taming a ricochet from a free-kick with a back-heel flick, unleashed a first-touch shot, eventually palmeed out for a corner by Rinaldi. After Bertini managed to keep the scores levelled through a handful of great save, things took a turn for the worse for Atalanta U23s as Obrić was sent off on 31 minutes for an (alleged) last man foul.
Feralpisalò made it 1-0 on 67 minutes through a Maistrello, who gave the home side the lead with his header. After earning a penalty all by himself upon being fouled into the box, Vlahović levelled the score for the Nerazzurri on 77 minutes. The equaliser was short-lived as hosts got back in the lead shortly after; once again with Maistrello, who completed his brace in the 79th. On 92 minutes, the hosts eventually killed the game off through Di Molfetta.
