FC Barcelona v Atalanta BC: the fair-play event
Rendezvousing at the iconic 'Via Veneto' restaurant in Barcelona
As is customary, prior to the FC Barcelona v Atalanta BC match, namely the culmination of both teams' UEFA Champions League path in the new League Phase format, executives from both clubs, along with UEFA representatives, convened for the traditional official gathering - an event that underscores the principles of fair play, a value held in the highest regard by the governing body of European football. The official luncheon took place at the esteemed "Via Veneto" restaurant.
Founded in 1967 and holding prestigious gastronomic accolades, including 3 Repsol Sols and a Michelin star (a title it has proudly maintained since 1974), the restaurant is a cornerstone of Barcelona's culinary scene, as well as a go-to gathering spot for high-profile figures in politics, business, and entertainment, both Catalan and international. Its legendary connection with surrealist artist Salvador Dalí is particularly noteworthy, as he found in "Via Veneto" the perfect place for his eclectic symposia, which became a hallmark of the restaurant's magnetic charm.
Representing FC Barcelona were President Joan Laporta, Vice President Rafael Yuste, Secretary of the Board Josep Cubells, Board Member and UEFA Matters Delegate Miquel Camps, and Board Members Josep Ignasi Macià and Josep Maria Albert.
On Atalanta's side, the delegation included President Antonio Percassi, CEO Luca Percassi, General Corporate Director Andrea Fabris, General Institutional Director Umberto Marino, Commercial & Marketing Director Romano Zanforlin, and Secretary General and Main Contact Marco Semprini.
The event was also graced by the presence of Consul General of Italy in Barcelona Emanuele Manzitti.
And representing UEFA was Delegate Thibault De Gent.
