Coppa Italia Magic in Bergamo: 3-0 to Juve and off to the semis
Scamacca, Kamaldeen and Pašalić paint the quarterfinal Nerazzurro
Atalanta put in a commanding team display to beat Juventus 3-0 and book their place in the semifinals of the 2025/26 Coppa Italia Frecciarossa. At the New Balance Arena in Bergamo, goals from Scamacca, Kamaldeen, and Pašalić sealed a clinical victory for Palladino’s side.
After a cautious opening, with early attempts from Thuram and Scamacca, Juventus produced the first real threat in the 20th minute. Conceicao came close twice within a minute: first, Carnesecchi did well to close him down and block the shot, then the Juventus winger’s curling left-foot effort rattled the crossbar. The Nerazzurri won a penalty on 26 minutes following a VAR review due to a handball touch into the box from Bremer on an Éderson cross. Making no mistake from the spot, Scamacca broke the deadlock. Juventus retorted with a headed attempt from Bremer in the 29th and a follow-up push from McKennie, walled off by Ahanor. The first half closed with Juventus on the offensive as Locatelli's free-kick hissed out of play.
In the second half, Juventus tried to turn up the pressure, but Atalanta’s defence held firm, allowing only a curling effort from McKennie, a header from Kelly, and a tricky cross from Boga. In the 77th minute, the Nerazzurri doubled their lead through Kamaldeen, finishing a textbook counter with a close-range strike off Bellanova’s cross. The game was sealed in the 84th when a freshly subbed Pašalić notched one more to cap off a superb team play: Bernasconi snatched the ball near the halfway line, Krstović picked out the perfect pass, and Pašalić slotted the ball into the bottom corner, sending the New Balance Arena into raptures and booking the Nerazzurri’s place in the semi-finals.
