Atalanta v Athletic Club for the 27th "Trofeo Achille e Cesare Bortolotti"

The "Trofeo Achille e Cesare Bortolotti" will officially mark the beginning of a series of crucial events in Atalanta’s season.

Now in its 27th edition, the traditional fixture dedicated to the memory of two unforgettable Atalanta presidents will represent the first major test of the summer, ushering in a period filled with important challenges.

On Friday 14 August, with kick-off scheduled for 20:45 CEST, coach Maurizio Sarri's Atalanta will make their debut at the New Balance Arena as they take on Athletic Club in an international friendly that will award the 27th edition of the Trofeo Bortolotti.

The match against the Basque side, a club with a rich European tradition that Atalanta faced in Bergamo during last January’s UEFA Champions League League Phase, will provide the final rehearsal ahead of the first leg of the UEFA Conference League play-offs and the opening Serie A Enilive fixture of the new season.

As always, the Trofeo Bortolotti will also represent a moment of deep symbolic significance for the entire Atalanta family. Together with their supporters, the club will pay tribute to the memory of Achille and Cesare Bortolotti, two presidents who played a key role in writing important chapters in Atalanta’s history, while also remembering club director Mario Bresciani and team doctor Valter Polini.

After the previous edition featured an Italian side, Juventus, the Trofeo Bortolotti will once again welcome an international opponent, reaffirming the global outlook that has always been part of its history and prestige.
