The vertigo showdown between Atalanta U23s and Vicenza ended in an edge-of-the-seat draw in Caravaggio: after the Nerazzurri crowned a commanding first half with a 2-0 lead, Vicenza clawed their way to the draw in the second half, pulling the score level with two goals from corner kicks.
Hitting the ground running in Caravaggio, Atalanta took the lead on 7 minutes through a pinpoint angled shot from Alessio, capitalizing on a Panada assist. In the 17th Alessio was at it again: after recovering a ball from Vicenza's half, he sliced through the visiting defence before having another go at the goal, eventually walled off by the opposing defence. The rebound found Alessio once again, who crossed the ball goalward: after a deflection from Conferente, Vavassori lined up for a shot, only to be cleared off the line by a Biancorosso defender. On 30 minutes Vavassori floated a brilliant lob to an on-rushing Ceresoli, who only had to slot it home at leisure. Vicenza retorted in the 34th with Rauti, who clipped the post one-on-one with Vismara.
As the second half got underway, Vicenza came out strong and threatened seconds after the whistle with Rauti, denied by Vismara, before halving the gap in the 59th with Ferrari from a corner-kick situation. In the 94th Vicenza found the equaliser from yet another corner with Leverbe.
