Atalanta U23s 1-2 Sorrento
With Ghislandi scoring the temporary equalizer
Matchday 18 of the 2025/26 Serie C Sky Wifi season saw Atalanta U23s come off worst against Sorrento at the Municipal Stadium in Caravaggio.
The Nerazzurri dominated the first half in terms of chances but couldn't find the breakthrough: inside the opening 10 minutes, Vavassori tested Del Sorbo twice, with the SDorrento keeper being up to par on both occasions. In the 21st minute, Ghislandi swung in a cross from the right for Levak, whose header glanced just over the bar. Against the run of play, Sorrento took the lead in the 28th thanks to a long-range shot from Cucurello.
After the break, the Nerazzurri came off the blocks in search of an equaliser, going agonizingly close in the 54th minute after a neat one-two between Vavassori and Panada, with the latter eventually failing to convert from close range. A minute later, Vavassori again threatened with a trademark curling effort that shaved the outside of the far post. The pressure finally paid off in the 62nd minute when Ghislandi levelled the score with a left-footed shot that beat the Sorrento goalkeeper at his near post, following an assist from Cortinovis. Celebrations were brief, however, as just one minute later D’Ursi put the visitors back in front. In the 79th minute, Vavassori fired at goal, and on the rebound, Bonanomi tried to poke it in but was unsuccessful. The final chance of the game fell to Cissè, albeit unable to steer the ball into the net from close range.
