Setback for the Nerazzurri
Atalanta U23s suffered a setback as Ravenna claimed a 2-0 win at the Stadio Comunale in Caravaggio.
Ravenna had the first attempts of the game: in the 6th minute, Anelli kept out their opening effort, while the second, six minutes later, went narrowly wide. The Nerazzurri responded in the 18th minute through Diao’s trademark blistering pace: Misitano flicked the ball on with his head and Diao raced onto it, carrying it all the way into the box before shooting, only for Venturi to make the save. On the half-hour mark, Lonardi threatened with a right-footed effort across goal from inside the box, but Plaia got in the way and deflected it behind for a corner.
Ravenna broke the deadlock through Rabbi just a few minutes into the second half. In the 76th minute, Atalanta U23s came close to an equaliser when Camara met Steffanoni’s cross with a header that flew just over the bar. The visitors doubled their lead in the 79th minute: following a corner, a goalmouth scramble saw the ball fall to Esposito, who was left with a simple finish into the unguarded net.
