Atalanta For Special at the DCPS Regional Finals Awards
Closing the 2025/26 season for the teams
The Atalanta For Special season officially concluded in Milan with the teams’ awards ceremony, attended by the National Head of the Paralympic Football Division, Giovanni Sacripante, and Regional delegate Vincenzo Bastanza. The event marked the recognition of a journey built on commitment, relationships, and growth.
All teams were presented with trophies and medals in a moment of shared participation, where results took a back seat to the value of the experience and the spirit of the project itself: a network involving athletes, referees, coaches, and families, fostering genuine inclusion over time.
The season ends after a demanding year, highlighted by the decision to enter all three teams into more competitive leagues. The second-level team narrowly missed out on the regional finals, confirming its strong competitiveness; the third-level side faced a step up in category, finishing mid-table while showing clear signs of progress; and the fourth-level team consistently led its league, remaining among the top contenders.
Above all, what remains is the value of the journey: growth not only in sporting terms but also on a cultural level, through adaptation and independence. The season comes to a close, but the message is clear: football can be a powerful educational tool when it is accessible and shared.
