2026 World Cup: Kossounou, Hien and De Roon through to the Round of 32
With De Ketelaere, Pašalić and Kamaldeen set to conclude their group-stage campaigns next
The FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage is nearing its conclusion, with the final round of fixtures taking place before the tournament moves into the knockout stage, culminating in the final on 19 July.
Odilon Kossounou and Ivory Coast booked their place in the Round of 32 thanks to a 2-0 victory over Curaçao in their final group-stage fixture. Kossounou played the full 90 minutes.
Isak Hien's Sweden also advanced to the Round of 32 after earning a 1-1 draw against Japan. The Atalanta defender started the match but was forced off after 37 minutes.
Marten de Roon and the Netherlands also secured their place in the knockout stage with a comfortable 3-1 win over Tunisia. The Nerazzurri captain remained an unused substitute.
The final FIFA World Cup group-stage fixtures now await Charles De Ketelaere with Belgium, Mario Pašalić with Croatia and Kamaldeen Sulemana with Ghana.
