2025 Christmas Match: shirt handover and charity donation
The special event held at the New Balance Arena
Simplicity has always been one of the defining features of the Christmas Match shirt presentation event for the auction winners. And it is perhaps this very simplicity that makes the occasion, year after year, so unique and special.
Strongly backed by President Percassi, the Christmas Match charity shirt auction — now in its 15th edition — featured 26 special festive shirts prepared and worn by the entire first-team squad for the Atalanta v Cagliari match, which the Nerazzurri won 2-1 thanks to a Scamacca brace.
The event at the New Balance Arena was about more than just the shirt handover; the total amount raised was also officially announced. The €47,500 raised through the Atalanta Fund - established by the Club at the Fondazione della Comunità Bergamasca ETS - was entirely donated to the Associazione Amici della Pediatria ETS ODV, which has been providing volunteer support at Bergamo Hospital (now ASST Papa Giovanni XXIII) since 1990. The proceeds will go towards scientific research, supporting the projects led by Dr Lorenzo D’Antiga, Director of the Maternal and Paediatric Department at Papa Giovanni XXIII, and his team.
In attendance were President Antonio Percassi; Milena Lazzaroni, President of Associazione Amici della Pediatria ETS-ODV; Francesco Locati, General Director of Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital; Lorenzo D’Antiga, Director of the Maternal and Paediatric Department at Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital; Fabio Pezzoli, Scientific Advisor to Associazione Amici della Pediatria ETS-ODV; Andrea Fabris, Atalanta Corporate General Director; Romano Zanforlin, Atalanta Commercial & Marketing Director; First-team player Lorenzo Bernasconi, and, of course, the winners of the 2025 Christmas Match auction.
Not only did the auction winners have the opportunity to pose for the official handover photo with their newly won shirt, they could also take selfies and get an autograph from first-team player Lorenzo Bernasconi. This was the icing on the cake for this event, which brought the 15th edition of the initiative to a close.
The shirt auction was organised in collaboration with the TV programme “TuttoAtalanta”, broadcast on Bergamo TV: thanks go to host Matteo De Sanctis, the production team and the broadcaster. A special programme dedicated to the shirt presentation and the charity initiative was also produced and aired on the local channel (DTT channel 15 and available via streaming) on Monday 6 April, after the "TuttoAtalanta" broadcast.
A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who took part in the auction: both those who secured a shirt and those who, despite not winning, still contributed with their bids to the success of the initiative.
