2024/25 Premio Brembo: Centro Bortolotti home to Youth Academy Festivities
Nerazzurri Youth Academy attending en masse
On the afternoon of Tuesday, 27 May, the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia set the scenery for the award ceremony of the 2024/25 edition of the "Premio Brembo", the traditional end-of-season event uniting the entire Nerazzurri Youth Sector. Now in its seventh iteration, the "Premio Brembo" stems from the strategic partnership with Brembo, Top Sponsor of the Atalanta Academy, and places paramount emphasis not solely on athletic performance but, above all, on the nurturing of moral, ethical and behavioural values that constitute the core of the Club’s ethos, starting from the early stages of the Academy.
As in previous years and in keeping with the established tradition, the awards were presented to boys and girls from the Primavera through to the U15s, as well as athletes from the two "For Special" squads, who distinguished themselves through exemplary behaviour, commitment and academic achievements. The selection criteria, as customary, took into account not only athletic performance but also personal character and integrity.
The event was attended by Cristina Bombassei, Chief Legacy Officer of Brembo; President Antonio Percassi; co-Chairman Stephen Pagliuca; Chief Executive Officer Luca Percassi; Corporate General Manager Andrea Fabris; Head of the Youth Sector Roberto Samaden; and Commercial and Marketing Director Romano Zanforlin.
Honoured by the presence of the entire Atalanta Youth Academy, the "Premio Brembo" ceremony drew in over 500 young footballers, accompanied by coaches, trainers, medical staff and Club executives, across all age categories -ranging from the Primavera all the way to the "Piccoli Amici" Peewee sides. Also attending the event were the Atalanta For Special outfits, both Junior and Senior.
In the words of Cristina Bombassei, Chief Legacy Officer at Brembo: “This year marks a significant milestone for our company as we celebrate 50 years of Brembo's presence in the world of competitive motorsport. It was in 1975 when Brembo first supplied a Formula 1 car and, from that moment on, we have become a benchmark for all our clients in the realm of motorsport. Sport embodies passion, dedication, commitment, sacrifice and courage. And it is by upholding these values that excellence and recognition follow suit. As we enter its 7th edition, the "Premio Brembo" has become a token of our enduring partnership with Atalanta. This award holds special significance for us, as it allows us annually to honour the young athletes who have set an example not just in terms of athletic performances alone but, most importantly, through exemplary conduct and dedication to their academic pursuits. Seeing 500 athletes gathered here today alongside their families, coaches, educators and medical staff is a testament to Atalanta's stature as a nurturing institution, a success made possible by the dedication of the entire technical staff, the Percassi family and Roberto Samaden, to whom I extend my sincere gratitude. We continue to support the Atalanta Youth Sector, one of the club's flagship assets and a benchmark on both the National and International level, with admiration and conviction".
Moving on to Luca Percassi, Chief Executive Officer of Atalanta BC: “The Premio Brembo represents not only a distinguished recognition of our Academy athletes, both male and female, but foremost a token of the hard work carried out on a daily basis. It is of utmost importance that a prestigious partner such as Brembo shares our values, especially those pertaining to the development of our younger generations. Our boys and girls are guided through a journey of growth that is not only athletic but also personal and human. I extend my sincere thanks to Brembo, and to Cristina Bombassei in particular, for their continued partnership and support. The fact that we have reached the seventh edition of this esteemed event is a source of profound satisfaction and immense pride for all involved".
