Wallpaper Legend: Forever Rafael Toloi!
10 brand-new wallpapers dedicated to the Nerazzurri Capitão
Special moments and extraordinary figures deserve celebrations that truly match their significance. With Rafael Toloi’s farewell, an undoubted Atalanta Legend, Wallpaper Wednesday rises to the occasion. From the title to every detail, here’s our exclusive Wallpaper... Legend tribute dedicated to the Nerazzurri Capitão!
In paying tribute to Rafael Toloi, we can’t brush aside those dates that, while seeming like mere personal milestones, are actually stitched tightly into the fabric of what’s been much more than just a club for the past decade: a home, a family, a true testament not only to his starring role but, above all, to his unique position as a front-row witness to Atalanta’s Nerazzurri saga over these ten years.
The first of these key moments goes way back to August 26, 2015, when Rafael Toloi crossed the ocean for the second time in his career, returning to Italy after his first stint. As the saying goes, “When life hands you a second chance, it’s up to you to make it count.” That’s a motto Toloi has worn like a badge of honor for ten years—first donning the number 3, then, almost as a nod to second chances, switching to number 2—which have both firmly cemented his place in Atalanta’s living history.
In our special “best of” dedicated to the Eternal Captain, we cannot overlook the “first times” and those key milestones that have cemented Rafael Toloi as an indelible figure in the Orobiec saga, thoughtfully organized by theme: from his very first Serie A appearance (an away match at Sassuolo on that unforgettable September 13, 2015), to his maiden league goal for the Nerazzurri, netted at Empoli just two weeks later,
and then to the first time he donned the captain’s armband: once again on the road, this time in Udine on October 29, 2017. A captain’s armband that Toloi would proudly and passionately wear on 105 more occasions across all competitions.
As poignant interludes, there are the Coppa Italia nights: from his golden debut against Cremonese, to the defining moments of his Nerazzurri legacy: those European nights where, as mentioned at the outset, his personal journey and the team’s story become inseparable, merging into one.
From the showdown with Everton, to the iconic slide against Dortmund, the triumph over Olympiacos - his first as captain in the Europa League- then onward to Zagreb and our very first encounter with LosBlancos, and above all, the crowning achievement: the remarkable European journey that reached its peak on that legendary night in Dublin.
A night wrapped in an embrace with Djimsiti, whose symbolic torch he took up the moment he stepped onto the pitch, and in the overflowing joy of Rafael’s celebrations; he who, that evening, had been there through every twist and turn, living and breathing Atalanta’s European journey with total devotion, “for better or worse,” just like in the most profound of marriages.
And finally, as every treasured album of memories should, we turn to the most moving, unforgettable snapshots of that May 25, 2025 — the day that gently closed the chapter (or better yet, said “until we meet again”) on Rafael Toloi’s Nerazzurri adventure. From the guard of honor after the final whistle to the embrace of the people who, for ten intense and unforgettable seasons, were truly his people: those passionate stands, that beloved stadium, the same ones who, when the announcer called out “Wearing number 2, the captain…”
responded as one, with all the weight of love and history: “Rafael Toloi!”
