As if it was a fully-fledged textbook case study on storytelling, the first month of the new year was a real hero's journey for the Nerazzurri, who, with their trademark Orobic attitude, once again proved their resilience, particularly when push came to shove.
Ans so, after the defaillance in Riyadh and a victory that "kept everyone on tenterhooks" for three more matches despite the great performances put up by the team in the two back-to-back Gewiss Stadium blockbuster clashes, “the third (at home) was the charm” for Atalanta, as the Nerazzurri shook off the winter cobwebs in spectacular fashion with a 5-0 thrashing of Sturm Graz, a key result to post a new Champions League status update with one game to spare. Then came the dramatic comebacks - or should we say "remuntadas"- first in Como and then in the very birthplace of this "footballing neologism," Barcelona. With the "Ciudad Condal" as central stage, the Nerazzurri sealed the end-of-month crescendo, first pulling back level against the Blaugrana twice and then standing tall under the final onslaught all being down to 10 men nonetheless - like we said before, a fully-fledged case of resiliance.
