Up the ladder: Nerazzurri topple Torino and cap a perfect week
Atalanta’s hat-trick of wins courtesy of De Ketelaere and Pašalić
An early breakthrough from De Ketelaere and a late Pašalić finish secured a third straight clean-sheet victory for the Nerazzurri: on the 2025/26 Serie A Enilive MD20, Atalanta ran out 2–0 winners against Torino at the New Balance Arena in Bergamo.
An all-out start for the Nerazzurri, who found the breakthrough early on: in the 13th minute, Bernasconi whipped a weighted corner-kick for De Ketelaere, who nodded it home to break the deadlock in Bergamo. Torino had their say shortly after with Ginetis, who fired a left-footed finish over the bar. The hosts were back at it on the threshold of the half-hour mark with two dangerous headers from Krstović, rising highest in the 24th and, most notably, in the 26th, when his effort was met by Paleari's intervention. 60 seconds later, it was Zalewski who nearly doubled Atalanta's lead: sent through on goal by Éderson, the Polish wingback's solo was eventually thwarted by the Torino keeper one-on-one.
The second half opened up with the Nerazzurri on the backfoot: in the 47th De Ketelaere weaved through the Torino defence and laid the ball off to Krstović, who couldn't find the winning touch and then, on 49 minutes, Zappacosta went agonizingly close as he saw his effort denied by Paleari after a key deflection off the post. On 70 minutes Carnesecchi stepped up to keep Maripan's sure-fire shot at bay with a feline save before doubling down in the 75th with another goalkeeping feat to tip Simeone, solo on goal, out for a corner. Samardžić also had his go right after coming on, but his lef-footed curler hissed high over the bar. On 87 minutes Torino reared their head with Vlasic, who sent the ball out of play by inches. Deep into stoppage time (95’), the Nerazzurri sealed it with a second goal: Pašalić broke forward on the counter after a flicked header from Scamacca and coolly slotted past Paleari.
At the New Balance Arena, it ended 1–0, a result that lifts the Nerazzurri to 31 points in the table.
