UCL Play-offs: between Sporting CP and Club Brugge
The draw set for 12:00 CET on January 31 at UEFA's HQ in Nyon, Switzerland
Scheduled for Friday, January 31, at 12:00 CET at the UEFA's headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, the upcoming UCL draw will determine the upcoming play-off matchups to take place in February. Namely, according to competition regulations, either Atalanta (9th place) or Borussia Dortmund (10th place) will face one of either Sporting CP (23rd place) or Club Brugge (24th place).
Due to its placement at the end of the League Phase, Atalanta, just like all teams finishing from 1st to 16th place, will be warranted to the "home advantage", playing the second leg of the playoff in Bergamo.
After the playoffs, a new draw will take place on February 21, featuring the top 8 teams. One of the 1st or 2nd teams will face the winner of the matchups between the 15th/16th and17th/18th place outfits and so on, down to either Lille (7th) or Aston Villa (8th), who will meet the winner of the 9th/10th vs. 23rd/24th place matchups, which includes Atalanta’s playoff. From there, the bracket will be set up for the final showdown.
