U23s See Off Vis Pesaro 2-1 in Caravaggio

Atalanta U23s returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Vis Pesaro in their rearranged 2026/27 Serie C Sky Wifi Matchday 8 fixture. Second-half goals from Steffanoni and Diao sealed the win in Caravaggio.

The Nerazzurri took control of the game from the outset, dominating possession for much of the opening 45 minutes. Diao had the first attempt, firing wide. On 15 minutes, Misitano and Bertolini combined well, but the latter's effort lacked the power to trouble Gomis. Four minutes later, Manzoni tried his luck with a long-range volley, which the visiting goalkeeper turned behind for a corner. Manzoni and Misitano both had further attempts as the half progressed, but despite Atalanta's sustained pressure, the score remained goalless at the break.

Atalanta U23s picked up where they had left off after the restart and broke the deadlock on 57 minutes. After Diao's initial effort was blocked by the defence, Steffanoni collected the loose ball and curled a fine finish into the net. Diao doubled the lead on 73 minutes, using his pace to race through on goal before reacting quickest to Gomis' initial save and lifting the rebound over the goalkeeper. Just two minutes later, the Nerazzurri's number 29 broke through again, but this time Gomis denied him. Vis Pesaro came close to pulling one back on 78 minutes when Nicastro struck the crossbar with an effort from inside the box. At the other end, Camara on 81 minutes and Steffanoni on 90 both went in search of a third goal, only to be denied by the visiting goalkeeper. Deep into stoppage time, on 90+5 minutes, Barranca reduced the deficit for Vis Pesaro, turning the ball home following a free-kick.
