U23s, Salvatore Bocchetti: "Proud of the lads"

In the aftermath of the playoff exit against Casertana, coach Salvatore Bocchetti commented as follows: "I'm proud of the lads, they put in an excellent performance against a very strong opponent. Of course, there's regret that we couldn't find the goal, but if I think back to where we started and where we've got to, the growth has been huge. That’s the greatest satisfaction for a coach: seeing them improve like this makes me proud. We faced a very strong team, but we pushed them all the way until the final whistle”.

The Nerazzurri coacg then assessed the season: "It's been a fantastic campaign, in a tough group and with the youngest squad in the league, something that makes our progress even more significant. Until last year many of these players were in the Primavera; now they’ve tested themselves in senior football. I have to congratulate the lads again, they deserve it. Holding our own against the Group C sides wasn't easy, but I saw a real team out there. I can only thank them".
