U23s, Salvatore Bocchetti: "I'm overjoyed"
The coach's post-match de-briefing
Following the draw against Catania, which secured Atalanta U-23s a place in the play-offs, coach Salvatore Bocchetti shared his thoughts: “I’m overjoyed. It’s been a long and demanding season, and the lads fought right to the end. It’s the reward for a great campaign, achieved against one of the strongest teams in the group. I’d like to thank the Percassi family, the Club, our President, Gatti and everyone who supported us.”
The Nerazzurri coach then added, “When you work with young players, you need time to find the right balance. The team has grown a lot over the course of the season, and with spirit and determination, they’ve achieved something remarkable. We’ll go into the play-offs with energy and the right mindset, aiming to go as far as possible. We’ll be up against strong teams, and I hope the lads approach these games with peace and composure — it will be an important experience for them, to be lived all the way. After the wins over Foggia and Trapani, we realised we were a real team. We knew what was at stake today, and the lads did well to give everything. We believed we could do it, and I think we deserved this result.”
