U23s, Francesco Modesto: "Stalwart stance from the team"
The coach's post-match de-briefing
Francesco Modesto commented on the AlbinoLeffe draw as follows: ''It was a hotly felt game and we started off on the right foot with Vanja threatening as early as minute 2. Then, unfortunately, not only did Bergonzi get injured; but they also took the lead with an absolute one-of-a-kind goal. Nonetheless, I relish the stance the lads took in the second half, with all our subs doing their bit for the team. I really enjoyed their stalwart mentality".
"We still have much room for improvement and the usual odd slip-ups that need that extra ironing out" -the Atalanta U23s coach went on- "and we're set to do it together especially considering the huge latent potential for growth that the whole roster has".
Closing off on the night's (scoring) debutant Artesani: "Having the chance to train with us all week long, we got to see him and his qualities well. Being the budding youngster he is, he just needs to keep pushing and working to bring out all his best traits, just like the rest of his teammates and any player coming through Atalanta's Academy."
