U23s, Francesco Modesto: "Playoffs well earned"

Francesco Modesto commented on the win over Lecco as follows: "We squared off with a team determined to perform well in front of their home crowd. In a way, it had the feel of a playoff game. They're a seasoned team who have always shown their best side on their own turf. Apart from the opening 5-6 minutes, we were in full control of the game throughout the first half. Granted, there's always room for improvement, for instance, in kicking our tempo up a notch. Truth be told, today we had to improvise in midfield with Bergonzi who, despite filling in, stepped up to the task as he always does. We deserve it: hard work and commitment paid off in the end. I wish to thank everyone involved: the ownership, Gatti, Marta, and all the staff. Achieving back-to-back playoffs, especially with a younger team, is nothing to write off. Now we have to keep the eyes on the prize, put in the hard work and prepare thoroughly for the first round of the playoffs".
