U23s, Francesco Modesto: "I relished the team's spirit"
The coach's post-match take
Holding the floor in the wake of his team's comeback win, coach Francesco Modesto commented on his lads' performance as follows: "This win is a testimony to our team's spirit. To play for the whole second half down one man was no easy task, especially considering our opponents' prowess in sneaking through enclosed tactics and their good technique. This outcome holds great value. Since in the first half we could have done better, we'll do our best to amend our shortcomings. This victory deserved to be enshrined so to speak, I very much relished the team's attitude".
"While we should have done better here and there with our goal chances, -coach Modesto went on- the same could be said about our opponents, it's as simple as that. Sure, as one would expect the red card had a major influence on the game but in what I would like to dub as 'second game', namely the one that lasted throughout the second half, the team gave tit for tat weathering the storm in spades".
Going on, the black-and-blue caretaker underscore how: "The lads ought to get used to such rugged wins, which stem from selflessness and grit. I saw the whole team defend and fight together as one, which embodies their commitment and how much they've been growing."
Closing off with the question on Pietro Comi: "Pietro put up a solid performance in our last game: having to play three consecutive games in such short window ramps up the room for mistakes, it's a part of football as well. he just has to keep his wits about him, we confide a lot in him."
