U23s, Francesco Modesto "Another step forward"
The black-and-blue coach's post-match de-briefing
As the Nerazzurri ushered in the second half of the season with an on-the-road win at Alcione Milano, coach Francesco Modesto held the floor in the aftermath: "Today we took another step forward as we imposed ourselves on a rather composed opponent. While in the first half we closed off any opening as we did battle on every ball and created many chances, we still lacked the last step in front of goal. We gfaced Alcione on an equal ground and with all due respect: their roster is very much of interest if you ask me. I'm also satisfied with how our defensive strategy unraveled: although we left them the space for that header, we pretty much stifled them the whole game. As for Vanja, well, he is our target man, always in the right place at the right time, a goal-scoaring machine come rain or shine, but credit's also due to Cassa's through pass, mind you: whenever he is placed in front of the goal, you already know the outcome with him".
In his closing remarks Modesto added how: "The lads have been growing strong, this is a selfless and unyielding group, always striving for the best. And the more they play, the more they learn. They've been making strides and they just have to keep on this path. While winning serves as a team pick-me-up, defeats teach you how to pull through ruts and how to react to the best of your capacity, something these lads have been doing since day one".
Coach Modesto then wished to convey his most heartfelt Christmas greetings and wishes to the Club's stakeholders and executives, the footballers and their families, the fans and to everyone who work everyday behind the scene and with unwavering passion,
