U18s: first day of training in Zingonia
Coach Stefano Lorenzi has been confirmed on the sidelines
Following in Atalanta Primavera's footsteps, the U18s side has also gathered at the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia for their first-ever session ahead of the 2024/25 campaign's start.
The outfit, whose roster comprises players mostly born in 2007 and who competed in the past U17s league, will be coached by Stefano Lorenzi, who will be entering his 13th coaching season at Atalanta Academy considering his past experiences in the black-and-blue Youth System. "Being a household name due to my long tenure here- coach Lorenzi proudly explained- is a further badge of honour: I joined the Club by the hand of Mino Favini himself, which means that each new season is a further opportunity for growth and life-long learning. I will have to work with the 2007 roster, a group I've heard a lot of good things about even though I've never actually trained them before... It will be a tough year considering the league's new format which harbours plenty of weekly challenges for the lads each Sunday. We'll bring about the opening of the pre-season in Serina following along the lines of last year's framework: the Club has given us a paramount chance to run the training camp in our valleys, truly a key formative and team-building experience for all."
Last season, the U18s team reached the semi-finals of the Under-18s Serie A: "Our main goal is to bring out the best in all our players and to ensure their growth with the most holistic approach to cushion the gap to the Primavera. My dream as a coach is to see them make thier First Team debut one day, this is the main purpose of our job".
Among the team's latest additions, Bergamo-born Silvio Cortinovis has joined the technical staffing as the new goalkeepers' coach.

THE SCHEDULE With training set to take place at the Centro Bortolotti until Saturday, the team will then de-camp in Serina until August 10. Afterwards, the team will break camp and return to Zingonia to play FeralpiSalò's Primavera.
