Atalanta U23s kept the momentum rolling with a crucial 2-0 win in Trapani. The Nerazzurri notched their third straight clean sheet and second consecutive away victory

It was a high-tempo, hard-fought first half at the Stadio Provinciale in Trapani, with both sides setting a relentless pace from the outset. The Nerazzurri fashioned the first clear-cut opportunity in the 23rd minute. Misitano slid a perfectly weighted through ball into Cassa’s run, sending him clean through on goal, but his effort was kept out as he fired straight at the Granata goalkeeper one-on-one. The U23s kept their foot on the accelerator, eventually turning pressure into reward on 28 minutes: Ghislandi whipped the ball in for Manzoni, who brought it under control before finessing a crisp left-footed volley past the Trapani keeper.

Ten minutes into the second half, Vismara took centre stage with a stunning reflex save to keep out Stauciuc. Barely a minute later, the U23s sprang forward on the counter. Cassa raced clear and went one-on-one with Galeotti, but the keeper held his ground and came out on top. The second goal finally arrived in the 81st minute: Ghislandi snuck past his marker and whipped in a cross; the delivery took a deflection and ricocheted into Cassa’s path. His effort was blocked again, but when the ball spilled loose inside the box, Cissè reacted quickest and stabbed home from close range to make it 2-0. Deep into stoppage time, the Nerazzurri nearly put the icing on the cake: in the 99th minute, a sharp one-two between Cassa and Levak sent the latter through in the area, but his strike took a deflection and looped behind for a corner, denying them a third at the death.
