The second "Ciak Educazione!" cineforum
Plenty of Nerazzurri youngsters turning up at the "Casa del Giovane"
A new screening of the “Ciak EducAZIONE!” project took place this week: attended by roughly 30 Academy players, who gathered at the "Casa del Giovane" in Bergamo for the showing of the "McFarland, USA" movie.
The initiative has been devised to stimulate food for thought, critical thinking and learning among youngsters. On that regard, the event started with a short snippet of the movie in screening, which forstered reflection and sharing of personal feelings on topics such as prejudice and discrimination. As such, "McFarland, USA" serves as a stern metaphor on determination, resilience and hope, whilst also depicting a bleak picture of the American society, where biases and marginalization are deeply ingrained.
At the end of the screening, the young attendees tried their hands at a wide-raging debate on the topic, which brought to the fore the crictical thinking of the lads in addition to a powerful message of hope, linked to the underlying topic of the movie itself. Recounting the true story of a group of young athletes who put their differences aside in the pursuit of a common goal despite the initial hardships, the picture underscores the power of teamwork.
Scheduled for December 2, the next movie club meeting will be pivoted on the United Nations' International Day of Persons with Disabilities-
