The last meeting of the season at "Casa del Giovane"
The "Casa del Giovane" in Bergamo hosted the fifth and final meeting of the season of the "Ciak EducAZIONE!" cinema club, a project aimed at promoting socialisation, confrontation and learning among the young players of Atalanta's Youth Academy through the universal language of cinema. Social issues such as online abuse, racism, sexism, homophobia and discrimination against refugees were the fil rouge of the films presented each month.
The final event of the season focused on the issue of disability, which was discussed with great sensitivity by the young people involved.
The occasion was marked by the screening of 'Unstoppable', the true story of wrestling champion Anthony Robles, who, born with only one leg, managed to achieve his dreams through determination and willpower, proving that the real limits are often not physical but cultural.
The film was followed by a lively discussion among the participants, with questions and shared emotions, helping to raise awareness.
"The film made us realise that disability does not define a person; on the contrary, it shows us how unstoppable each one of us can be in life," commented one of the young people at the end of the meeting.
The Film Club thus continues to be a valuable space for growth and dialogue, where cinema becomes an educational tool and a mirror of the challenges of the real world. The initiative will be back next year, with new screenings, new topics and new food for thought.
