Atalanta beat Roma 2-0 for their eighth win in a row!
With De Roon and Zaniolo storming the Olimpico stadium for the Nerazzurri
Signalling the "thumbs up" in the arena with their second-half goals, De Roon and Zaniolo led Atalanta to their 8th consecutive league win by seizing the Olimpico Stadium 2-0 in the 2024-2025 Serie A Enilive MD14.
The hosts had the first chances of the game, with Paredes hitting a scorcher that tested Carnesecchi and Koné firing just wide. Before the half-hour mark, the Nerazzurri also gave it a go when Éderson's cross found De Ketelaere, who nodded into the arms of Svilar.
The second half resumed on a much equal footing right until the 69th minute when Kossounou's sortie proved itself conducive to Atalanta's lead as de Roon opted for a first-touch volley from the edge of the box to bring about the black-and-blue siege and edge past Svilar also thanks to a deflection off a Giallorossi defender. Roma retorted with Mancini, who went off target in the follow-up of a free-kick.On 83 minutes the Nerazzurri almost doubled their lead through Éderson, who spun his finish on Brescianini's assist from the left flank too angled. The closing minutes saw Atalanta test the hosts' defence yet again with Zaniolo and Djimsiti's headers before Nicolò exacted the ex's law to seal the black-and-blue double with his headed finish on Cuadrado's cross.
