Setback in Meda
With the match culminating in a 1-0 win for the home side, Atalanta U23s came unstuck at the Città di Meda stadium.
After an even start with both theams on equal footing, Bocalon broke the deadlock in the 29th for Renate. The Nerazzurri didn't waste time bouncing back in the 32nd: after Scheffer's first-time shot on Vavassori's assist was kept out, Vlahović was brough down on the rebound with the referee waving play on. Then on 36 minutes Vismara made two crucial saves following a corner from the home side. Scheffer was at it again in the 37th, weaving through defenders with ease before setting up Vlahović, who fired over the bar from a good firing position.
On 66 minutes Atalanta were awarded a penalty for an Eleuteri handball in the box, but Nobile denied Panada from the spot. In the 86th Gyabuaa rose to meet Ghislandi's cross with a thunderous header, with the Nerazzurri's chances only to be thwarted once again by Nobile. A minute later, Alessio had one last crack at it with a shot, but the Renate goalkeeperwas quick off his line once more, keeping the score unchanged.
