Comi and Simonetto seal the victory for the Nerazzurri
Atalanta's U-19 side returned to winning ways on matchweek 29 of the 2024/25 Primavera 1 "Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti", as the Nerazzurri stormed to a 2-0 away win over Genoa through a Comi header and a Simonetto penalty.
The game began with the Nerazzurri on the attack, and Artesani threatened early on with a shot on 4 minutes which the Genoa goalkeeper parried for a corner. After the home side responded through Deseri, Bosi's men came close to opening the scoring on 17 minutes through Idele, whose first-time effort was deflected for a corner. Baldo and Artesani went close for Atalanta with ten minutes remaining in the first half, but they were unable to get the breakthrough.
The pressure finally paid off in the opening minutes of the second half when Comi nodded in Bonanomi's cross from the right in the 47th minute. The Nerazzurri doubled their lead in the 56th minute when they were awarded a penalty for a foul on Artesani and Simonetto sent the Genoa goalkeeper the wrong way from the spot. The home side tried to fight back, forcing Zanchi to make saves from a free-kick from the edge of the area and a header from Nuredini, but the Nerazzurri shot-stopper was alert enough to keep the score at 2-0 and hand Atalanta the win.
