After their victory over league leaders Sassuolo, Atalanta secured another crucial three points in the 2024-2025 Primavera 1 "Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti" championship by defeating Empoli 0-1 on MD22 courtesy of Steffanoni's first-half match-winner.
The first fraction of the game proved itself a evenly matched affair, with the Nerazzurri taking the lead just minutes before the break, thanks to a long-range shot by Steffanoni. Aside from Steffanoni’s goal, the only other notable chances in the first half came from Manzoni and Bonanomi.
In the second half, Empoli pushed hard to equalize, but Atalanta's defense held strong, preventing any surprises. The Nerazzurri also looked for a second goal, with Lonardo threatening, but the match at the Petroio Sports Center finished 0-1 in favor of coach Bosi's team.
