Primavera, Cesena 5-3 Atalanta
A double Manzoni and a stoppage-time Lonardo on the scoresheet
The Nerazzurri are left empty-handed on the road against Cesena as the 2024-2025 Primavera 1 season "Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti" MD23 game finishes 5-3 in favour of the Romagna side.
Atalanta got off to a strong start, taking the lead just 3 minutes in with a thunderous Manzoni header as the black-and-blue no. 49 nodded a brilliant right-sided cross from Arrigoni to break the deadlock in the heart of the box. The Nerazzurri doubled their lead in the 18th minute with an almost copycat goal: Arrigoni again delivered a perfect ball from the right, and Manzoni, unmarked in the box, headed past Veliaj. After Camara nearly made it 3-0 a few minutes later, Cesena pulled one back with Perini in the 38th before eventually levelling the game on the brink of halftime with Dolce.
At the start of the second half, Cesena grabbed the lead with a header from Perini. In the 60th minute, Damiano nearly levelled things up once again, but the hosts stretched their lead, first with Ghinelli in the 72nd minute, and then with Castorri 13 minutes before the final whistle. In stoppage time, the Nerazzurri managed to pull one back, with Lonardo finding the net to make it 5-3.
