Primavera, Atalanta 3-1 Sassuolo

A roaring success at the Centro Bortolotti in Zingonia for Atalanta as the Nerazzurri secured a 3-1 win over second-placed Sassuolo in the 2024-2025 Primavera 1 "Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti" league MD21.
With lightning speed the Nerazzurri took the lead just after 40 seconds: capitalizing on a right-flanked cross from Bonanomi, Armstrong gave Atalanta a "head start" as he nodded the ball home from the heart of the box to vanquish Sacchetti. The hosts doubled their lead from the spot courtesy of a cool Simonetto, who confirmed his penalty pundit status by converting his 5th spot-kick of the season to beef up his overall scoring tally to 7 nets total. Atalanta kept pushing forward with Artesani and Camara, but Sassuolo’s defence held firm. The visitors tried to get back into the game, with Leone leading the charge, but a crucial intervention from Manzoni kept the scoreline unshaken for Atalanta. Just before the break, Camara had another crack to stretch the black-and-blue lead once more, but the first half wrapped up with the Nerazzurri 2-0 up at the Centro Bortolotti.
In the second half, Atalanta put the game to bed with Artesani: cutting through from the right, the 07s Nerazzurro danced past a couple of defenders before slotting the ball in in the following mano-a-mano against Sacchetti. Towards the end, Sassuolo pulled one back with a goal from their number 90, Vedovati on 88 minutes.
