In the 2025/26 Serie A Enilive MD9, Atalanta and Milan played out a 1-1 draw at the New Balance Arena. The Nerazzurri, trailing early, fought back with a stunning strike from Lookman to claim their ninth consecutive unbeaten result.

An uphill start for the Nerazzurri as the visitors drew first blood in the 4th minute with Ricci, whose ranged volley picked up an untoward deflection before lodging into the bottom corner. The Nerazzurri took heart giving nonetheless tit for tat from the get-go, with Hien missing the target by inches in the 6th before responding twice around the 20-minute mark with De Ketelaere turning provider on both occasions: after Éderson had his ranged shot smothered by Maignan at the second attempt in the 20th, Ahanor followed suit going for power in the 27th but finishing slightly over the bar. The Nerazzurri levelled the score in the 35th minute courtesy of Ademola Lookman: after picking up a finesse through ball from Pašalić, the Nigerian weaved through the box and hammered it past Maignan and under the roof of the net.

The second half kept up the high-octane pace, as a packed-to-the-rafters New Balance Arena spurred the team to all-out action with the Nerazzurri going pedal to the medal and nearing the turnaround in the dying minutes of the game first with Zappacosta, who unleashed a thunderbolt from outside the box, only for Maignan to get a fingertip to it and steer it over for a corner. Moments later, Musah was denied at point-blank range, with the goalkeeper getting across in a crucial save. With the whistle blowing at 1–1, the Nerazzurri extended their unbeaten streak in Serie A to nine matches.
