Nicola Beati: "We Need to Reset and Move Forward"
The Nerazzurri coach's post-match comments
Following the match against Latina, head coach Nicola Beati shared his thoughts: "It was an unusual game, heavily affected by the poor condition of the pitch. Neither team found it easy to play good football. Latina were better at making the most of their strengths. We conceded a really poor goal that shaped the course of the match, and we didn't react well. The sending-off then dealt us another blow. Nevertheless, I'm pleased with our second-half performance: we stayed in the game, looking for a moment that could have helped us get back into it. We leave here with some regrets, but we need to reset and move forward."
The coach then reflected on the team's current form and recent performances: "We need to work even harder. Our last two matches came either side of the break, which disrupted us somewhat. We lost our match rhythm, and many of the lads were away on international duty, so it takes a little time to find our rhythm again. Against Torres, the lads played well, whereas today I'm less satisfied with our performance because we could have done better."
Finally, Beati discussed the advantages and challenges of having such a young squad, highlighting the importance of the players' development: "We're competing in a difficult league with a very young team, and that comes with both advantages and disadvantages. We need to make the most of the lads' energy and freshness, but at times we also pay the price for our lack of experience in individual duels and physical battles. A more experienced player certainly knows how to handle those situations better. But that's precisely the purpose of B teams: to develop players and give them the opportunity to gain experience."
