Nicola Beati: "We Keep Growing and Learning"
The Nerazzurri coach's post-match comments
Speaking after the match against Gubbio, Head Coach Nicola Beati commented: "It was a tricky game for both teams, so we knew there could be some difficulties in terms of composure and decision-making. We were wary of this fixture because we had recognised the individual quality of some of their players. We did well to come away with the result."
The coach then reflected on his side's performance: "I had asked the lads to take control of the game and keep possession, because that's when we play our best football. When we allow our opponents to dictate play, as happened in our previous two matches, we struggle. The lads did really well today and deserve credit. They gave next to nothing away and, importantly for such a young team, stayed focused and in the game for the full 90 minutes."
Finally, Beati discussed the squad's development and objectives for the season: "I'm pleased with our start to the season, regardless of today's win. In our daily work, I can see steady progress across the board, which is encouraging. Of course, we know it's going to be a long, tough campaign. We need to pick up the points we need and fight for every ball, in every match, against well-organised teams with far more experience than us. Our aim is to nurture the talent that almost all of our young players possess, and I'm pleased with the progress we're making. We want to keep improving and learning from every match. The challenge is to combine that development with getting results."
