MD3 and another win for Atalanta For Special's Senior side

While the Senior side defeated Bellinzago 5-0, the Junior took a bye week

New DCPS commitment and another win for Atalanta For Special, with the Senior side iposing themselves 5-0 over Blue Bellinzago in the DCPS Tier 3 MD3. As for the Junior, respectively drafted in the competition's fourth rank, the other black-and-blue side took a bye week instead.

As the game unraveled, coach Gianmario Lesmo, together with his coordinators Walter Probo, Aurelio Birolini, Gioachino Marconi, Leonardo Marcassoli, Gianni Piccatti and Alfredo Locati, observed attentively by the sidelines of the Bettinelli Sports Centre in Milan.

An outright yet hard-fought win, such was the kernel of Atalanta For Special's latest performance, with the Nerazzurri notching up five goals whilst keeping a clean sheet to impose themselves over Bellinzago. Off to a puzzling start on a pitch shrouded in mist, coach Lesmo's lads had their work cut out for on the onset as the opponents, who approached the game with a stalwart spirit, managed to hamper and dull the black-and-blue game tactics and flow.

Better off the marks, twice did Bellinzago threaten yet twice did the Orobic back-line resist the siege, led by captain Mirko Bernini, who proved himself as the bulwark of the black-and-blue defence. After cushioning the initial distress, Giacomo Probo returned the blows in kind to break the deadlock minutes before the halftime whistle through a sweeping solo effort from the left side.

As the second half began, also thanks to the key intake provided by the substitutes, Atalanta successfully doubled their lead through Fabian Cordozo, who hammered down the opposing keeper with a powerful strike, a goal which eventually flipped the script of the game.

With a spring in their step after going 2-0 up, Atalanta For Special regained their usual composure and, after weaving the game's thread with their household freeness, added one more goal to the scoreboard through Masserini, who converted Codozo's assist. Coming off the bench to make his league debut, Carlo Pezzotti added volatility to the black-and-blue tactics and favoured the encroachments from the Atalanta midfielders, which came up trumps later on as Pezzotti himself sew the 4-0 up minutes later.

By completing his brace with a snooker shot to lionize a great choral display, it was Probo who eventually put the golden brooch on the black-and-blue manita.

At the end of the game, all athletes were presented with a special memento by the regional DCPS Delegate Vincenzo Bastanza as a token celebrating the upcoming International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
