Lookman on target in Parma friendly
Coming from the bench, Zaniolo played his first minutes as a Nerazzurro
The Ennio Tardini friendly saw the home side victorious as Parma clinched a 4-1 win.
The hosts got off to a strong start as early as four minutes into the game as Man who had his chance first deflected by Musso before the post and then Palestra's clearance off the line settled Parma's first attempt in just a close-call. It was then Man who broke the deadlock two minutes later with a solo play. After Hernani had his go with a right-footed curler, finishing slightly wide to the side, on 16 minutes, it was then Bonny who couldn't find the net in the 25th. After Lookman's attempt was turned away by the opposing defence, the home side doubled on 30 minutes with Bonny, who made no mistake one-on-one with Musso. In the 33rd minute, Atalanta pulled back thanks to a great Lookman-Scamacca combo: after gathering the black-and-blue 9's pinpoint through pass, the Nigerian forward skipped past the goalkeeper to make it 2-1. 42 minutes on the stopwatch and then came another attempt courtesy of the Atalanta attacking duo in charge: it was Lookman who freed Scamacca in a tight place, allowing the Italian striker to test Suzuki with a ranged attempt in the follow-up. The Nerazzurri had a close brush with the equaliser on the threshold of halftime through Ruggeri, whose 45-minute header on Palestra's finespun cross from the right flank finished over the bar.
The second half opened up on a most bitter note as Scamacca forcibly left the field due to injury seconds before Parma made it 3-1 with Man's chip finish on 51 minutes. Amidst the players coming off from the bench for the first round of substitutions, Zaniolo racked up his first minutes with the black-and-blue shirt. It was then Partipilo who had a chance on 66 minutes, with his shot ending up high off target, before finding his scoring ways in the 78th with a lob to seal the game at 4-1.
