Faux-pas in Bergamo
A narrow setback for the Nerazzurri as Lazio eke out 1-0 at the Gewiss Stadium on the 2024/25 Serie A Enilive MD31.
The first half was a fiercely contested affair, with stalemate reigning supreme and not too many clear-cut chances. The only things of note were a crucial clearance by Kolasinac to deny Dele-Bashiru and a couple of opportunities for the Nerazzurri, also from set-pieces, that went nowhere.
The second half was ushered in by a Carnesecchi save to keep out Dele-Bashiru's ranged effort. While the first clear-cut chance of the game was Atalanta's as Retegui forced a key goalkeeping display out of Mandas with his left-footed turn on 50 minutes, it was Lazio who broke the deadlock instead in the 54th with Isaksen. On 72 minutes came Zappacosta, blocked by Mandas, before Carnesecchi upped the ante on Rovella. As Brescianini got but a hair's breadth away from the equalizer when his 89th-minute header was inches wide, the match ended 0-1.
