La Scuola allo Stadio: unveiling the edition 22
Last year's winners were awarded at the Gewiss Stadium
This morning the conference hall of the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo hosted the opening ceremony of the 22nd edition of "La Scuola allo Stadio" (School at the Stadium), the socio-educational initiative promoted and organised by Atalanta and mainly aimed at all primary and at the secondary school students. The project is renowned for its educational value and has long been recognised by the Osservatorio Nazionale sulle Manifestazioni Sportive del Ministero dell'Interno (National Observatory for Sporting Events of the Ministry of the Interior). Over the course of its 21-years run, the project has involved a tally of: 30,135 students from Bergamo schools (and not only from Bergamo) have participated in the project, along with 2,360 teachers and more than 170 university students.
After the ceremony awarding the best projects from the 21st edition, came the unveiling of the 22nd chapter of the initiative which featured, together with the "household" projects and formats, new contents stemming from the joint-venture with ATS and Meteo Expert spokesperson Andrea Giuliacci, who will share his vast wealth of knowledge on climate and sustainability.
The upcoming run of the initiative will span across 10 instalments staggered throughout the whole sporting season (making it an absolute first): namely, meetings will begin on October 11 and will continue with sessions on the 18th of October, on November 14 and 15, on the 21st of February 2025 and with the closing March 2025 hiatus, with 5 dates within a month, on the 7th, the 20th, the 21st, the 27th and the 28th.
Representing the Club and doing the honors, Corporate Area General Manager Andrea Fabris, Youth Sector Manager Roberto Samaden, this edition's testimonial Giorgio Scalvini and Dr. Lucia Castelli, psychopedagogist of the Nerazzurri academy and creator of the project founded in 2001 together with Stefano Bonaccorso.
“This 22nd edition,” began director Andrea Fabris, ”represents the continuation of a project with schools, which the whole club particularly cares about, starting with President Antonio Percassi and CEO Luca Percassi. A project that includes further initiatives, on which we are working, that will also involve other clubs in the territory.”
“The “Scuola allo Stadio,” conceived twenty-two years ago by this Club in a futuristic way, is an important benchmark for all teams. Atalanta, thanks to the strong bond with the territory, is a reference for many boys and girls who play sports, which has the power to transmit important values and can be a vehicle to teach them many other things as well,” added Roberto Samaden.
Atalanta’s first team player Giorgio Scalvini, testimonial of “Scuola allo Stadio”, took the floor next.
“Atalanta is a club that has a strong focus on children’s education and growth, not only sportwise, and the “Scuola allo Stadio” is a clear example. This is a very interesting initiative for the students who participate and also for a guy like me, who grew up here and was taught so much in school.”
Among the main attendees, the event was graced by the presence of local authorities such as: the Bergamo Prefect Andrea Valentino, the Commander of the Carabinieri Unit of Bergamo Col. Salvatore Sauco, the Social Policy Manager Giovanna Fidone, the City Councillor of Bergamo for Social Policies, Welfare, Sports and Well-being Marcella Messina, the Representative of the Bergamo Education Office Ilenia Fontana, the healthcare Manager at ATS Barbara Caimi, the FIGC-LND Provincial Delegate Roberto Mazzoleni, the CSI Bergamo President Gaetano Paternò, the UISP Chief Armando Stopponi, the Pastoral Office for Schools of the Diocese of Bergamo spokesperson Daniela Noris.
