International duty: seven-strong Nerazzurri Monday on September 28

Out of the 13 Atalanta representatives called up for the September/October international window, seven Nerazzurri took to the pitch on Monday 28 September for Matchday 2 of the UEFA Nations League.

There was plenty of Nerazzurri involvement in Bursa, where Italy ran out 4-1 winners over Türkiye. Giorgio Scalvini started and went the full 90 minutes, while Giacomo Raspadori featured throughout the opening half. Gianluca Scamacca was introduced in the 76th minute, with Marco Carnesecchi an unused substitute.

It was a winning night on the road for Sead Kolašinac and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Wearing the captain's armband, the Nerazzurri defender started the 4-2 victory over Romania in Bucharest before making way in the 81st minute.

After a goal and an assist against Cyprus on Matchday 1, Nikola Krstović was on target again for Montenegro. The Nerazzurri striker struck in the 38th minute and played the full match as his side claimed a 3-2 win away to Armenia.

Charles De Ketelaere started Belgium's clash with France in Brussels, featuring until the 85th minute as the visitors edged the contest 1-0.

Staying the full 90 minutes on the pitch, Nicola Zalewski was the provider for Poland's temporary equaliser against Sweden, teeing up the 1-1 in Solna before the hosts went on to claim a 3-1 win.

On Sunday, the weekend’s action had seen Lazar Samardžić remain on the bench as Serbia suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Netherlands in Belgrade on Sunday.

Tomorrow, Tuesday 29 September, four more Nerazzurri will be on international duty: Franck Kessie and Ivory Coast face Somalia, Mario Pašalić and Croatia visit Spain in Valencia, Eljif Elmas and North Macedonia take on Slovenia in Ljubljana, while Relja Obrić and Slovenia U21s host Israel U21s in Murska Sobota.
