Gianmario Lesmo: "Atalanta For Special are thriving"

Now flaunting two teams enrolled in the DCPS league and the Academy

Atalanta For Special doubled down this season with two black-and-blue sides bound to take part in the upcoming DCPS league.

With the overall roaster now comprising 36 players, here’s the makeup of the our two For Special outfits: while 16 players will join the Senior side (namely, the current regional champions and National Tier-3 semi-finalists now waiting to know their spot in the upcoming league after undergoing the trial matches last week), 20 Atalantini have been enrolled in the junior outfit, which will make its debut in the tier-4 league.

“The numbers are constantly growing,” affirmed coach Gianmario Lesmo, ”as a confirmation that what we’ve been doing is very valuable. During this year, the very first open day was organized, which led to the inclusion in the staff of as many as seven athletes.”

“Training sessions are held as always at the Saletti Sports Center. For seniors, the methodology is competitive, with new game tactics elements just introduced this year. For the juniors, on the other hand, the methodology mainly concerns basic technique with the first steps of team play -continued Lesmo-. Fun and personal growth are the main objectives for both squads”.

Without forgetting the activities proposed for the academy, with 22 boys and girls aged 5 to 13. A group that, this year, was enriched by four more elements, while three athletes were aggregated to the juniors.
