For Special: joint training session in Zingonia
The Second tier team trained alongside the Under-17s
Monday afternoon, 19 October, was a memorable one at the Centro Sportivo Bortolotti, where Atalanta’s Under-17s, coached by Simone Fautario, took part in a joint training session with the Second Level Atalanta For Special team, led by coordinator Gianmario Lesmo and his staff.
Before taking to the pitch, the players received a welcome surprise in the form of a visit from Gianpaolo Bellini, former Atalanta captain and club legend, who now works with the Nerazzurri youth academy. He spoke to the players about the importance of teamwork and supporting one another. His presence was another reminder of how the Atalanta For Special project is an integral part of the Club’s educational vision.
After the traditional group photo, it was time to get out on the pitch for a friendly match. The two teams initially faced each other before the sides were mixed up for the second part of the session. An intense hour of football, filled with commitment, team spirit, healthy competition and plenty of fun.
At the end of the session, Atalanta For Special coordinator Gianmario Lesmo spoke to our microphones: “Having fun and socialising are the main goals.”
