Cruel Woodwork as Juventus edge it in Bergamo
It ends 1-0 to the Bianconeri at the New Balance Arena
Juventus eke out the win in Bergamo as the 2025/26 Serie A Enilive MD32 saw the visitors imporsi per la minima at the New Balance Arena thanks to an early second-half strike. The Nerazzurri were also denied by the woodwork, as Scalvini rattled the post in the opening stages.
The Nerazzurri flew out of the blocks, looking dangerous and going close twice in the opening minutes. In the 7th minute, Zalewski’s left-footed drive flashed just wide of the post, and two minutes later Scalvini’s header from a set-piece routine rattled the woodwork.Juventus reared their heads in the 31st minute, when Kelly's header got deflected out for a corner. The middle spell of the first half saw a balanced contest, with neither side able to carve out any real chances until De Ketelaere tried to break the stalemate in the 39th minute, his header drifting just wide. After Juventus threatened on 45 minutes, when Carnesecchi got down to deny Kalulu one-on-one, the last chance before halftime fell to Atalanta, with Krstović's overhead kick grazing the post in the 48th.
Juventus broke the deadlock with their first attempt of the second half, as Boga bundled the ball home from a scramble in the Nerazzurri box just three minutes after the restart. In the 57th minute, Atalanta came within inches of an equaliser as Djimsiti’s header was kept out by Di Gregorio with a crucial goal-line save. Raspadori tried his luck in the 63rd minute, his effort taking a deflection and going behind for a corner. The visitors threatened in the 67th with Thuram's right-footer. Zappacosta retorted in the 77th, but his left-footed toe-poke drifted wide of the mark. In the 88th minute, Scamacca went close with a header from Scalvini’s knockdown, his effort just skimming the crossbar. Despite Nerazzurri pushing right to the final whistle, Juventus held on to their lead.
