Coppa Italia Primavera: Atalanta reach the final
Pedretti and Camara sealed the Nerazzurri’s victory
Atalanta book their place in the 2025–26 Coppa Italia Primavera final with a win away to Sassuolo, securing a 2-0 victory in a well-played match, decided by one goal in each half: Pedretti opened the scoring, while Camara wrapped things up after the break.
After an evenly balanced start, played with intensity and physicality by both sides, the first chance fell to the hosts: around the 20th minute, Costabile unleashed a long-range angled shot that went just wide. The Nerazzurri responded by creating danger around the opposition box on several occasions. In the 34th minute, Atalanta took the lead through Pedretti: after Camara’s layoff for Baldo’s shot was blocked by the defense, the Nerazzurri number 37 was quickest to react to the rebound, tapping the ball into the net. Late in the first half, Sassuolo tried to level the score, while Atalanta pushed for a second but without success.
At the start of the second half, Atalanta came close to doubling their lead several times: in the 47th minute, Camara tested the goalkeeper with a dangerous header from a cross by Ramaj, while in the 55th minute Pedretti nearly grabbed his brace with a curling effort that struck the post. Around the hour mark, Sassuolo attempted to equalize, but in the 77th minute Atalanta found their second goal with Camara: played through on goal, the Guinean forward beat the goalkeeper with a precise left-footed finish into the far corner. In the closing stages, Sassuolo tried to pull one back, but Atalanta held firm to secure a 2-0 win and a place in the Coppa Italia Primavera final.
The final will be played in Milan on Wednesday, April 29.
