Catania 2-0 Atalanta U23s

On the final matchday of the 2025/26 Serie C Sky Wifi, first half of the season, Atalanta U23s suffered a 2-0 defeat away to Catania at the Angelo Massimino Stadium.

The match gets underway with Forte’s effort, comfortably dealt with by Vismara; followed by a ranged effort from Vavassori, eventually pushed away by Dini. Around tge half-hour mark, Catania were awarded a penalty after a challenge from Guerini was deemed a foul. From the spot, Jiménez made no mistake and put the hosts ahead. The Nerazzurri tried to respond and on 35 minutes captain Panada went close with a powerful strike from distance, only to see his effort deflected behind for a corner by Di Tacchio. Just before the break, pulled off a clutch save to deny Lunetta on 42 minutes.

The second half drew all the more challenging as pouring rain made the pitch close to unplayable. Despite the conditions, the Nerazzurri tried to pose a threat: in the 65th minute, Simonetto unleashed a shot on goal, but Dini stayed sharp and claimed it safely. A minute later Catania went agonisingly close, with Casasola smashing the post with a first-time effort from range. In the 71st minute Jiménez sealed his brace, pouncing on the rebound after Rolfini’s strike came back off the woodwork and prodding the ball home, effectively killing off the contest.
