Third back-to-back win after Genoa and Shakthar

Walking off the Pier Luigi Penzo stadium with the full three points, the Nerazzurri have picked up the threads with their third consecutive win of October courtesy of Pašalić and Retegui, who sealed Atalanta's win in the 2024-25 Serie A Enilive MD8 game with a goal per half.

Going strong from the onset, Atalanta broke the deadlock first right after 7 minutes following a corner-kick situation: following Retegui's headed scramble for the ball, Pašalić was the first to turn it under the roof of the goal with a left-footer. On 12 minutes Stankovic flew to deflect De Ketelaere's attempt out for a corner. While Retegui nodded the ball slightly off target in the follow-up Venezia retaliated on 16 minutes, when Oristanio's ranged finish ballooned over the crossbar. After Svoboda performed a last-ditch save to defuse Lookman's tricky cross in the 17th minute, Carnesecchi denied Zampano's curler with a great goalkeeping display while Oristanio headed high in the following corner kick.

Atalanta neared the second of the game on 29 minutes with a double chance in mere seconds: while Lookman smacked the crossbar with a boisterous scorcher, Bellanova neared the post on the rebound. Minute 32 and Nerazzurri back on the offensive with De Ketelaere, free to unleash his left curler from a free-kick situation, with the ball hissing off target by inches. Retegui had another go at the threshold of halftime when his angled drive neared the post.

Starting the second half on the right foot, Atalanta doubled their lead with Retegui: following Bellanova's break-out pass, our number 32 snatched the ball and finished the counter with a finesse chip shot to edge past Stankovic and made it 0-2. Venezia had their go on 52 minutes with Duncan, whose ranged shot bounced slightly wide to the side, retorted by Éderson in the 54th with the Carioca midfielder managing to sting Stankovic's gloves. After Candela and Oristanio threatened for the hosts, Samardžić's 72nd-minute curler was fingertipped over by Stankovic. As the third whistle filled the air at the Penzo stadium, the Nerazzurri ran out 2-0 victorious.
